Resumen de PTGui

PTGui es un software de costura de fotos panorámicas. Originalmente desarrollado como una Interfaz Gráfica de Usuario para Panorama Tools (de ahí el nombre), PTGui ahora es una aplicación de costura de fotos con todas las funciones.

Usa PTGui para coser cualquier número de fotos en una imagen panorámica.

Algunos beneficios de PTGui:

PTGui puede coser múltiples filas de imágenes
Crear panoramas cilíndricos de 360 grados, panoramas parciales 'planos' e incluso panoramas esféricos de 360x180 grados
No es necesario mantener la cámara nivelada: PTGui puede coser imágenes rotadas e inclinadas
Tamaño de salida prácticamente ilimitado: ¡crea panoramas Gigapíxel a partir de cientos de imágenes!
La salida en capas permite un control total sobre el resultado final cosido
PTGui cose la mayoría de los panoramas de forma totalmente automática, pero al mismo tiempo proporciona control manual total sobre cada parámetro. Esto permite coser escenas 'difíciles', donde otros programas fallan.

Novedades de la versión 13.8

Corregido: Algunos elementos del menú (Ver - Zoom y menú de Máscara) permanecieron deshabilitados cuando deberían estar habilitados.
Para la salida TIFF, el modo alfa 'separado' fue eliminado en la versión anterior. Ahora se ha vuelto a agregar; puede ser útil en Photoshop donde muestra la transparencia como un canal separado en la pestaña Canales.
Mejoradas las traducciones al alemán (¡gracias Michael Gricke!)
El visor de PTGui ahora analiza los metadatos XMP de Photosphere 'GPano'. Estos metadatos son incrustados por PTGui para panoramas equirectangulares. Como resultado, el visor de PTGui ahora muestra correctamente el panorama incluso si no es un panorama completo de 360x180.
Corregido: error de 'Afirmación fallida' al generar puntos de control para ciertos proyectos
Perfil de lente agregado para el Canon RF 7-14mm F2.8-3.5L FISHEYE STM.
Perfil de lente agregado para el Laowa 8-15mm F2.8 Fisheye.
Perfil de lente agregado para el DJI Avata 360. Las imágenes nombradas _UP y _DOWN se colocan correctamente.
Corregido: Linux: bajo ciertas circunstancias, PTGui podría no iniciar, dando este error: "No se pudo abrir el archivo para escritura: /tmp/nh142_ptgtempid".
Corregido: posible fallo al trabajar con panoramas que consisten en muchas imágenes fuente.

As of 01-24-2012, MacUpdate still shows 9.1.2. MacUpdate, why don't you have a button where we can EASILY inform you when your database is outdated? Been this way a very long time and it's ANNOYING that you have your users jump through hoops just to inform you of an update you've missed. Anyway... PTGui is up to 9.1.3 and it's been so for over a week.. Version 9.1.3 (16 January 2012) Fix: out of memory error could occur when saving large jpeg files on 32 bit Windows Fix: parts of the panorama could be missing in the detail viewer (detail viewer would show transparency checkerboard pattern) Fix: Area selection in Control Points tab (using Shift dragging) allowed the selection rectangle to be outside the image bounds, resulting in several problems PTGui can now save JPEG files up to 65500 x 65500 pixels. Previously this was limited to 25000 pixels width and height. Please note that many applications (including Photoshop) cannot read such large jpeg files, claiming that the file is corrupt. Creating progressive JPEG files is no longer supported

My review of 2 years ago is still accurate. This is a serious piece of software for the professional. It has been continually and frequently updated over many years. I have been using it for about 4 years. Note that it is not just a GUI for Panorama Tools, although it started out that way. It has its own stitching and blending engines now, but the user may select open source engines as well. That said, I believe one should not disparage a program that is principally a GUI if it makes a complicated tool easier and or faster to use. After all, Mac OSX is at its heart a GUI for Unix and learning new tricks in photography is a lot more productive for me than learning the command line interface for Unix. For the causal user there are cheaper stitching tools and Photoshop itself keeps getting better and better but when you need a high degree of control over the process and results I have found nothing better than this software.

You've got to be kidding me... Panorama Tools is a great piece of software: pity that some parasites try to make a quick buck by slamming an amateurish GUI on top of it and charging $100 for that. Hugin gives you a marginally nicer GUI, but has the huge added advantage that you will be able to spend your 100 bucks on a nice restaurant meal....

I'm a pro shooter and I've been using PTGui for at least a couple of years now. I'm very surprised that there are no reviews of it here, so I am going to pipe in. I love this app! I have seen it mature with many updates. This is a very powerful app with a huge amount of control. The interface is somewhat daunting but worth the effort. Originally, the app was a Graphical User Interface that ran the Panorama Tools engine (hence, the name PTGui) written by professor Helmut Dersch. It has since gained its own engine but can still use professor Dersch's engine. To be fair, the stitching engine within Photoshop has also matured into a great tool and for many people will be entirely satisfactory without purchasing a 3rd party app such as PTGui. Photoshop's stitching interface works completely automatically and usually does a very good job. However, on the occasion when it doesn't work well, PTGui can get it done. PTGui is also my choice when creating a 180 or 360 degree VR. Id' write more but I've got to get back to work and make some money.
